Greetings everyone,

It’s time for another Pecha Kucha night! Here's the deal - some space has
become available at Parsons on October 27th and we want to put it to good
use. The last Pecha Kucha event went over extremely well, so much so, that
we figure it's about time we did it again. For those unaware of what Pecha
Kucha presentations are, and the special format they utilize, here is how
Wikipedia defines it:

"The idea behind Pecha Kucha is to keep presentations concise, the interest
level up and to have many presenters sharing their ideas within the course
of one night. This is how it works; each presenter is allowed a slideshow of
20 images, each shown for 20 seconds. This results in a total presentation
time of 6 minutes 40 seconds before the next presenter is up.”

The topic for the night is Video Games and Game Development and we encourage
everyone to submit a talk (c’mon it’s only 6 minutes, what have you got to
lose?). We’ve intentionally kept the topic broad in the hopes that it will
spawn a large variety of presentation ideas.

Now the important bit, how to submit a talk:

>From now until the end of the week (10/13 – 10/16), just reply to this email
with 1 to 2 sentences describing your presentation idea (no .ppt necessary).
We'll then notify those chosen to present on 10/18. If your talk is chosen
we are asking that PowerPoints be submitted by 10/25.
Remember presentations are only allowed to last 6 minutes 40 seconds and
it's a great way to engage the community! Another reminder email will be
sent out to the entire list soon with additional venue and presentation
information.

Cheers!

~Brandon
