[IGDA-NYC-announce] GAME PLAY Theater Show

Throughout the month of July, the Brick Theater in Brooklyn will be hosting
GAME PLAY (http://www.bricktheater.com/gameplay) a theater festival devoted
to gaming-based works, and we've created a special discount promotion for
New York area IGDA members--details are below.

 

The festival includes the following plays and events:

 

*Adventure Quest (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=158844415264), a
play based on '80s-era PC adventure games such as King's Quest and Quest for
Glory

 

*Thank You, But Our Princess is in Another Castle
(http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=84480879140), in which the
"performers" are avatars in such games as World of Warcraft, Halo 3, and
Grand Theft Auto 4

 

*Suspicious Package: Rx (http://www.suspiciouspackageshow.com/index.html),
an interactive retro-noir thriller that's performed by the audience

 

*MMORPG Night, July 18th @ 8pm: Play your favorite Massively Multiplayer
Online Role-Playing Game in a theater

 

*Rock Band Karaoke, July 24th @ 10pm (after 8pm Adventure Quest
performance): Play Rock Band in a theater, karaoke-style

 

*Chiptunes Dance Party, July 25th @ 10pm (after 8pm Adventure Quest
performance): Party to 1980s/90s video game-inspired chiptunes with video
projections
