Hey there, New York IGDA peeps!

Sorry to send this on such short notice, but I wanted to let you all know
about an event happening on December 3rd and 10th in Brooklyn. A friend of
mine will be helping her students show their animation work and she'd like
to have some members of the game/animation industry in attendance for the
students' presentations. I've pasted her email below, and you can contact
her for more info. Thanks, and see you at the next meeting!

My name is Michelle Ng. I work as an IT consultant for Ernst & Young. I also
volunteer for Citizen Schools to teach a computer animation apprenticeship
using a software called Alice, a free 3D animation software developed by
Carnegie Mellon University to encourage students to approach computer
programming in a more innovative manner.

Since late September, I have been working with 14 enthusiastic middle school
students at the Urban Assembly Academy of Arts and Letters in Brooklyn to
learn about storyboard and 3D animation programming using Alice. I am very
excited to see their final projects called WOW and would like to invite
external guests to be part of an authentic audience.

On December 3rd and December 10th, these students will be presenting their
final animation projects to their fellow classmates and their guests at the
school. As an enthusiast of computer animation, it would be an honor if you
would consider attending this WOW presentation and be willing to share some
feedback with the students.

Date: December 3rd - 4:30pm or December 10th - 5:30pm

Place: Urban Assembly Academy of Arts and Letters - 225 Adelphi Street,
Brooklyn, NY 11205

RSVP: Please email michelle at alumni.cmu.edu by December 1st and indicate the
date that you will be attending (12/3 or 12/10)

For more information about the Citizen Schools program, please visit:

For more information about Alice, please visit: http://www.alice.org

Thank you for your consideration and support. Please let me know if you have
any questions. I hope that you will be able to join me in congratulating the
students for their hard work in computer animation!

Best regards,
Michelle Ng
